Like life, theater is a journey, not a destination. For Northern Stage, pat of that journey is our dream of a new home in downtown White River Junction. Having all of our facilities under one roof, instead of in three buildings, will decrease overhead costs and increase efficiency in many ways.
A new theater will also allow us to involve and engage the community in new and exciting ways. We envision more space and a more inviting space for our audiences to connect with us and with our art. Space to allow you to participant. Space to relax, to converse, to learn, to debate, to observe all that goes into a night at the theater. Space for us to try some new and different things. Space to accommodate community groups and outside programs. And we hope to provide a more comfortable and accessible theater space as well, a bit bigger, but without losing the intimacy that our audiences have come to love.
Our productions get better every year, and a new theater will help us to continue bending that arc upward. We have been working hard to collect that information we need to make this dream come true. We don't know what shape it will take. We don't know when it will happen. But when it does, we hope you will be right there with us.
